Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a Jr. Full Stack Developer to support the modernization and ongoing maintenance of CBP information systems. This is a great opportunity for an early-career developer to apply and grow their skills in JAVA/JEE development while working on mission-critical government systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern tools and frameworks, while collaborating with experienced engineers in an Agile environment. What you will do Assist in the design, development, and testing of JEE software applications Collaborate with senior developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and refine solutions Use modern software engineering tools and frameworks such as Eclipse, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, and Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence) Contribute to Agile development practices including sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure quality and maintainability What you need to have Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 5 years of experience; Master's Degree and 0 to 3 years of experience; 8 to 10 years with no degree Foundational knowledge of Java and JEE technologies Basic front-end development skills with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with XML/JSON Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery, Angular, or React (academic or project experience counts) Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL queries Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and software design concepts Interest in learning Agile development practices and modern DevOps tools What we'd like you to have Project-based experience developing applications using Java/JEE Familiarity with Spring Boot, Tomcat, or similar frameworks/servers Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or similar) Experience with Git or other version control systems A passion for continuous learning, problem-solving, and working collaboratively in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills About BigBear.ai BigBear.ai is a leading provider of AI-powered decision intelligence solutions for national security, supply chain management, and digital identity.
