SALARY: Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the Board of School Inspectors of School District 86, Will County, Illinois, and the Council #86 of the American Federation of Teachers- Local 604 of School District #86 found on the following link: Teachers Contract
- Maximum 10 years of full-time Certified Teaching Experience
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the building principal, the classroom teacher is to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth to enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSE:
- Professional Educator License with and/or Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science Endorsement or Required Endorsement.
- Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, public and community relations, and academic competence.
- Applicants must possess effective behavior management skills.
- Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning.
- Applicant must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, public and community relations, and academic competence.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the course outlines, curriculum, and text used.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback.
- Ability to compose correspondence, reports, and/or other required written materials.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, inquiries, and/or complaints.
- Displays courtesy, tact, and respect when dealing with others.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals consistent with the duties of this position.
