Position: Jr Job Cost Accountant
Job Type: Full TimeJob
Description:We VALUE you! This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic role supporting our Lad Development team. As the Jr Job Cost Accountant you will be responsible for assisting in the organizing and directing of job cost accounting and financial reporting at the division level. You will help to review and assess current and future job costs and advocates necessary changes to expand divisional profitability.

Some of the Job Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing all aspects of job cost coding including but not limited to the following-payroll entries, purchase orders, open purchase orders, EWO’s, billings, Open lots, billed lots, options, flatwork analysis and all other items reflecting divisional profitability
  • Works closely with the Division Job Cost Accountant on month end close process.
  • Travel to the Central Valley, Fowler, once per month. This will require a 2-night stay with 2 full working days onsite.
  • Works closely with Project Superintendents assessing waste factors, labor speeds, rates and service analysis.
  • Analyzing data for Job Cost Accountant to review during job reviews with the job supervisors.
  • Reconciling cost of goods sold by division to Job Costing.
  • Preparing journal entries to record divisional expenses.
  • Attending monthly financial review meetings providing input into actual versus budget margin analysis.
  • Works closely with the Estimating Group reviewing and recommending changes to budgets.
  • Prepares ad-hoc reporting as required using existing BI tools

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 year of experience in a related field
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, computers, and related software programs
  • Ability to works with a diverse group of persons.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.
  • Detail oriented, organized and be able to work seamlessly with various personality types
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists.

Environment:

  • CVC is a concrete subcontractor that has been doing business for over 35 years.
  • We have offices in Reno, Sacramento, and the Central Valley· This position will work out of our Sacramento office, but report to the Job Cost Accountant in Fowler.

Schedule:· Monday – Friday, from 6:30am – 3:30pm
Pay Range: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
