Description

SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Working safely
  • Modify detailed CAD drawings and SolidWorks models for custom fabrication projects
  • Experience with setup and operation of CNC equipment including lathe and mill. Hass VF2, Bridgeport, Fanuc 0i lathe control, and a CNC router and CNC plasma cutter running Mach 3
  • Ability to program machines using Fusion 360 would be an asset
  • Operate welding and fabrication machinery (MIG, TIG, CNC, Plasma Cutters, etc.)
  • Able to use various other machining tools such as surface grinders, drill presses, band saws, angle grinders, and small tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints/drawings
  • Commitment to product safety & quality, safe working practices, and continual improvement
  • Collaborate with shop floor teams to deliver precision work with attention to detail
  • Drive a Lean/continuous improvement culture
  • Oversee shop supplies, facility maintenance, and vehicle upkeep as needed
  • Mechanical aptitude

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Machinist Journeyman Certification required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant engineering/fabrication background
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in a job-shop or custom fabrication environment
  • Familiarity with stainless, mild steel, aluminum, and tool steels

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or related field (asset)
Responsibilities

Royal Machine Solutions is seeking an Engineer/Fabricator to join our Brantford team. This is a shop floor/engineering hybrid role where you will spend 50% of your time on engineering design (SolidWorks, CAD) and 50% on hands-on fabrication (welding, machining, project coordination).
You will play a key role in supporting the growth of our custom fabrication and conveyor business, ensuring high-quality work while driving lean practices and continuous improvement.
