As a Jr. Piping Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and drawings for plumbing piping systems in various new residential construction projects. REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Previous expierence in designing for residential projects
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized, capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Project execution experience would be an asset
  • Experience in construction, with a focus on mechanical

TECHNICAL ABILITY/KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience in relevant Building and Infrastructure BIM applications such as Revit
  • Plumbing code knowledge would be an asset
  • Proficient with Autodesk Revit
  • Understand VDC requirements and Level of Detail (LOD)
  • Trimble SysQue experience would be an asset
  • 2D Knowledge transfer and drawing export
  • Strong experience using Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD would be considered a requirement
  • Strong experience in MS Office (ex. Excel, Word, etc.)

    The annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role and open to negotiation

Responsibilities:

  • Generate fabrication models, plans, presentations, etc. based on issued for construction information
  • Meet with field team to ensure fabrication is being installed as coordinated.
  • Work closely with Shop Manager to continue to grow the BIM and prefabrication departments.
  • Assist in clash detection and mitigation
  • Interface with client issued models
  • Produce fabrication level construction models and drawing packages
  • Development and maintenance of templates and modeling procedures
  • Work within construction project management teams
  • Work with project estimation and PM team to assist in change orders
  • Stay up to date on technology relevant to BIM in the construction industry
  • Evaluate BIM Technology and processes periodically
  • Assist Project Managers with technical expertise
  • Attend post-tender meetings with General Contractors
  • Present the status of BIM projects to Foreman and PM Team
  • During down time, assist PM’s with required tasks
  • Perform other assignments as required
