Description

The Junior Project Engineer supports the design, software configuration, documentation, and field implementation of integrated Building Automation and Energy Management Systems (BAS/EMS). This is an early career, hands-on role designed to build technical skills in BAS design, programming, networking, and project execution.

Duties and responsibilites:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, product literature).
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and control applications.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn BAS communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON).
  • Basic understanding of IT and OT networks and servers, including IP addressing, switches, and system integration concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and AutoCAD for documentation and design support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, field-ready mindset.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and work in mechanical/electrical environments.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills, with a growth mindset.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent technical diploma) in: Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial, Computer, or Building Automation Engineering.
  • Internship or up to 2 years of related experience in BAS, HVAC, controls, or networking is preferred but not required.
  • Training in industry platforms (Automated Logic, Carrier, Train, Alerton, Delta, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Tridium, PLCs etc.) is a plus.
  • US Citizenship required.
    Salary range $75k-$95K DOE.
