JOB DESCRIPTION
We have an opening for a highly motivated Jr Research Associate to join our compound management and automated purification team within the Chemistry Department. The successful candidate will be a key member of a dynamic team, which interacts extensively with the Medicinal and Peptide Chemistry Units. The focus of the role will be to provide effective compound management support to ensure efficient circulation of compound samples between the internal scientific units and with IRBM’s external partners, as well as perform the purification of final compounds and intermediates. The candidate will have good laboratory skills and knowledge of common purification techniques (chromatography and UPLC) and will be able to perform quality control analyses on commercial and internal synthesis compounds.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Good knowledge of the MS Office™ package (Excel ™; PowerPoint ™; Word ™; Outlook ™)
Good knowledge of common purification techniques and analytical techniques (UPLC/HPLC and mass spectrometry)
Good understanding of associated software is desirable (MassLynx, Empower)
Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
Attention to details and accurate record keeping
Collaborative attitude and ability to multitask.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills
Good oral/written communication In English
Capability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
Maintain high standards of laboratory safety and comply with all safety requirements according to Italian laws.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Diploma
Over two years of industrial experience is a plus.
The position is based at Pomezia (RM).
