OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Scrum Master/Task Coordinator to support our Agile delivery teams. In this role, the Junior Scrum Master partners with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to facilitate ceremonies, maintain team artifacts, and remove basic impediments to enable consistent delivery. The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of Agile practices (Scrum and Kanban), strong organizational skills, and a growth mindset focused on continuous improvement.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 1–2 years of experience in an Agile environment supporting Scrum or Kanban teams (can include internships, rotational programs, or project-based experience).
  • Foundational understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and core concepts: ceremonies, roles, artifacts, story points/estimation, WIP limits, and empirical process control.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional setting, manage competing priorities, and escalate risks appropriately.
  • Data-oriented mindset with comfort maintaining team metrics (velocity, burndown/burnup) and creating simple dashboards or reports.
  • One of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Advanced technical education from a recognized program.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and equivalent work experience.
Responsibilities
  • Support the team’s progress toward sprint and release goals by coordinating and facilitating day-to-day Agile ceremonies (daily scrums, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) under the guidance of a senior Scrum Master.
  • Champion Lean-Agile values and practices, encouraging adherence to Agile, SAFe, and DevOps principles appropriate for team maturity.
  • Maintain Agile tracking systems to provide transparency into Product and Sprint Backlogs, velocity trends, and burndown/burnup metrics; ensure work is accurately updated and aligned to sprint goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members including architects, software engineers, QA, and technical leads to support timely delivery of committed work.
  • Identify and escalate risks, issues, and impediments; track mitigation actions and follow through to resolution with appropriate owners.
  • Assist the Product Owner with backlog hygiene, including definition of ready/done adherence, acceptance criteria clarity, and story/task breakdown.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by capturing action items from retrospectives and helping the team operationalize improvements to quality, cycle time, and predictability.
  • Coordinate dependencies with adjacent teams and communicate changes that affect scope, schedule, or capacity.
  • Prepare and deliver concise status updates and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership, highlighting progress, blockers, and upcoming milestones.
