    Judges Personal Assistant - Auckland District Court
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • provide comprehensive administrative support to District Court Judges, including managing their calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings/events
  • organize and maintain electronic and physical files, ensuring that information is accurately documented and easily accessible
  • handle matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature with the utmost discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • coordinate support services for visiting Judiciary along with reception tasks/duties
  • assist judges during court proceedings, including managing case files/documentation, and ensuring all necessary materials are readily available
  • manage and prioritize incoming communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail, responding or redirecting them as appropriate
  • assist with ad-hoc support tasks such as stationery orders, word processing/photocopying/scanning and arranging travel logistics
  • attention to detail when typing/proofreading Reserve Judgements or other documents
  • act as a liaison between Judges, legal professionals, court staff and other relevant stakeholders

  • proven experience as an administrative assistant, personal assistant, or in a similar role.
  • familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures is highly desirable.
  • proficiency in using office software and tools, including MS Office Suite and document management systems.
  • minimum word processing speed of seventy words per minute.
  • strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail and attentive listening.
  • ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team
  • experience in a legal or court environment is an advantage
