ADMINISTRATIVE AND RECEPTIONIST SKILLS:
- you have knowledge of switchboard and receptionist procedures to provide reception services to the branch by stacking, forwarding and transferring calls to staff
- you have the ability to perform various clerical duties, including mail distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, office filing, booking boardrooms, and updating job advertisements
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:
- you have organizational skills to complete multiple tasks such as a variety of office responsibilities and handle a high volume of incoming calls and correspondence
- you have the ability to manage a multiple phone-line system while responding to routine inquires and transferring calls to appropriate staff
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- you have demonstrated oral and written communication skills to respond to walk-in visitors and incoming calls and to prepare routine correspondence
- you have the ability to deal tactfully and discretely with ministry staff and the general public
- you have demonstrated customer service skills to efficiently handle receptionist and clerical responsibilities and relay clear messages and provide effective service to staff
ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:
- you have analytical skills to determine nature of calls and forward enquiries to appropriate staff/location
- you have problem-solving skills to determine how to respond to unfamiliar and sensitive inquires
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- you have proficiency using computers and a variety of software programs such as word-processing software, logging/tracking systems, spreadsheets and databases
- you have strong keyboarding skills to type a variety of materials, such as letters, memoranda, reports, labels, envelopes, while checking work for typing accuracy
