EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum A.A. degree in business administration, accounting, or finance
  • Minimum of three years of increasingly responsible experience in an accounting position, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Experience with Sage, MIP, or similar accounting software is a plus.

OTHER SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
  • Good communication skills, including written, verbal, in-person, and by telephone
  • Ability to learn new tasks and/or systems
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
  • Occasional lifting of 10-20 pounds

Responsibilities
  • Process all cash receipts and accounts receivable payments.
  • Process staff credit card statements
  • Process tenant’s security deposit refund
  • Review and approve accounts payable coding entry.
  • Help prepare Non-profit revenue reporting
  • Reconcile credits to the APC Operating Account to MIP
  • Manage accounts payable across APC entities.
  • Monthly reporting of McKay Ave expenses
  • Assist payroll by entering monthly journal entries as needed.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close.
  • Assist in audit procedures and prepare schedules.
  • Process 1099-NEC Forms
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and standards.
