We’re looking for a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate excels and flourishes in a quickly changing and highly engaging environment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with GAAP, the accounting cycle, and standard accounting practices and principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with enterprise accounting systems, particularly MS Dynamics F&O
  • Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills; solid interpersonal skills, including a collaborative approach to problem-solving, ability to be convincing and maintain a positive attitude and enhance morale
  • Ability to take direction and work independently at times to achieve results; must be comfortable seeking input and advice where appropriate on financial matters which have or could have a material impact on the business
  • Proven experience in applying sound judgment and creativity in planning and achieving goals within one’s areas of accountability
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, as well as precise attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Team player spirit; ability to work well within an international team and foster an environment of cooperation
  • Ability to accept and act upon feedback
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine financial tasks, reconcile accounts, maintain ledgers and create invoices.
  • Manage accounts payable AI/OCR software to ensure it operates effectively, and process all invoices in a timely and accurate manner; resolve any discrepancies.
  • Run accounts payable aging report, review discrepancies, obtain and review vendor statements and reconcile to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Manage accounting email inbox, responding to general inquiries from customers, vendors, and partners.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for review and posting by Senior Accountant.
  • Create accounts receivable invoices for sales of recovered metals.
  • Assist with month-end close by performing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing closing entries for prepaids, fixed assets, bonus accruals, etc.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and examinations.
