Job Title: Junior Accountant
Location: Duncan, BC (On-Site Only)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $40–$45/hour (depending on experience) + comprehensive benefits package

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and a passion for delivering high-quality team support. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support multiple businesses and play an integral role in ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in our accounting operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of public practice or corporate accounting experience
  • Proficiency with Sage 50 and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Responsibilities
  • Invoice entry, monitor and update accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
  • Job Costing
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
  • Payroll processing and reporting
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts, investigating discrepancies as necessary.
  • Government filings; GST, PST, WCB, Source Deductions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide financial insight and support business operations.
  • Administration and maintenance of our group benefits plan
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
