SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to support the smooth functioning of our boutique professional services organization. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial and accounting tasks.
Please note: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work permits. Only permanent residents and Canadian citizens will be considered.
This position requires excellence in both verbal and written communication in English; Korean language skills are considered an asset.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included, but not limited to):

  • Perform general daily accounting functions and bookkeeping using QuickBooks. Tasks include generating daily bank reports, posting account transactions, and making journal entries.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Assist in payroll administration for both employees and contractors, including all year-end requirements.
  • Support fiscal year-end audits by providing necessary documentation and assistance.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and accounts receivable/payable balances.
  • Record daily revenue recognition entries in the journal.
  • Manage government filings including HST, EHT, WSIB, payroll remittances, and T4 forms.
  • Complete various other accounting-related tasks as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience using QuickBooks Online.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to self-manage, take initiative, and multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Korean) preferred.
  • Degree or Diploma in Office Administration or a related field.
