About the Role Healthy Kids is looking for an experienced, skilled, detail-oriented, self-starter to occupy the position of Junior Accountant for the company. This position will perform key functions in the finance department and report directly to the Finance Manager. Must love a fast-paced office and learning new things. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Enters data, generates billing, runs reports to verify information, prepare vouchers and send billing medium to appropriate funding sources. Enters, maintains, and updates information regarding students and other relevant information necessary to complete billing and record transactions in QuickBooks. Analyzes remittance advice to properly post. Analyzes differences between billed and collected amounts and/or denials. Prepares adjustments as necessary. Track denials and re-bills. Follows up on all unpaid accounts on an ongoing and timely basis. Prepares and completes daily deposits for all Healthy Kids accounts. Takes deposits to bank or utilizes deposit machine in office to make deposits, if necessary. Ad-Hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Manager. Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: High School diploma required; Associates Degree in Accounting preferred. 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping and/or Finance related experience required. Knowledge of accounting including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Strong knowledge of excel to include VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data visualization. Experience with QuickBooks. Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate effectively with all third-party payer representatives as well as internal staff members including program staff. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and data. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Additional Requirements: Excellent organization and time management skills.
