Patriot Group International has a full-time, exempt employee opening for a Junior Accountant. This position will be located either our in our Warrenton, VA or Herndon, VA offices. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:

You will perform a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department including but not limited to:

• Update, reconcile, and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
• Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
• Maintains and sets up employee payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
• Ensures timely processing of all staff payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles.
• Helps conduct regular payroll reporting as required and assists with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger.
• Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs (Deltek Costpoint 7).
• Manages reconciliation of expense reporting in Concur.
• Sends credit card statements to employees and managers for expense reporting.
• Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.
• Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
• Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Perform general administrative support to the Controller and Executive Team
• Perform general office management task such as ordering of office supplies, scheduling of maintenance personnel, greeting guests, answering phone calls, and ensuring the office is neat.
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO and Controller

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are a must.
• Attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to multi-task are a must
• Must have a positive attitude.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred, but not required.
• Accounts payable and receivable experience required.
• A security clearance is a plus, but not required.
• Costpoint experience preferred, but not required.
• US Citizenship required.
• Must complete PGI criminal background check and drug test to be considered for employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work at a desk using computers and other typical office equipment for extended periods of time up to 8 hours per day.
