Description

One of Australia’s most talked about law firms, Keypoint Law is looking for a Junior Accountant to join this young award-winning business. Located in Sydney’s CBD Keypoint is disrupting the legal profession and following in the footsteps of its sister firm in the UK (Keystone Law) which is widely regarded as the most successful listed law firm and challenger in the sector.

We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to work closely with our Head of Finance. The position is located at our offices in Sydney’s CBD. The role includes responsibility for:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Month end reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts
  • Processing month end journals
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with the preparation of monthly management reports
  • Overseeing debtors and credit control
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory reporting ie BAS and FBT
  • Daily management of the firms Trust Account including issuing of trust receipts and preparation of all paperwork for Trust payments for submission to the CEO for approval
  • Monthly Trust Account reconciliation
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with the Annual Trust Account Audit
  • Setting up of Controlled Money Accounts as required
  • Liaising with key stakeholders of the firm and external parties
  • Ad hoc duties/projects as required by the Finance Manager

Person attributes

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Can do attitude with an impeccable attention to detail
  • High level of written English, especially spelling and grammar
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Passionate about learning

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in similar roles, preferably in a legal practice
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or higher
  • Membership of a professional accounting body highly regarded
  • Essential software knowledge: Partner for Windows and Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience in a Legal Practice highly regarded

Salary Guide: $80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation
