Junior Accountant Must reside in South Jordan, UT area 10913 S River Front Parkway Suite 200, South Jordan, UT 84095-5641 Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch break) What is OOCL: OOCL is one of the world's largest integrated international container transportation, logistics and subsidiary companies. The Financial Control team is responsible for all accounting and tax activities of several North American business entities within multiple industries including ocean carrier agency, trucking, intermodal/rail, and real estate. We maintain and develop accounting principles, practices, and procedures in alignment with headquarters to ensure accurate and timely financial statements to external stakeholders and internal reporting to corporate management, as well as to stay in compliance with regulations. Main responsibilities include general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and budget and forecast development. OOCL Benefits:  As a global company, we offer exceptional career and development opportunities with attractive compensation and benefits including:   * 401k Retirement Plan AND Pension Plan  * Paid Vacation/PTO * Major Holidays * Floating Personal/Vacation days * Paid separate sick days  * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance   * Referral bonuses * Bi-Weekly pay * Tuition Assistance after 12 months Junior Accountant Job Duties:  * Prepare journal entries, including month-end close and cash management, for North American Group companies * Prepare consolidated financials for multiple entities in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS * Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annually reporting package for Headquarters * Perform account analysis, and complete account reconciliations * Maintain general ledger and company records. * File annual business reports * Prepare monthly tax provision and support tax projects * Prepare audit work papers, internal financial package and financial statements * Provide accurate, reliable, and timely reporting for internal requirements Minimum Qualifications for Junior Accountant Position:  * Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting * Ability to function in MS Office, with professional skills in Excel * Understand basic accounting transactions- General Ledger * Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS Preferred Skills:  * Customer focused with excellent verbal and written skills  * CPA License * Knowledge of SAP * Critical thinking skills * Strong self-learning skills and attention to details * Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese and/or Spanish * Willingness to create and grow innovation within the department  All employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check OOCL is an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
