PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Works in a manufacturing environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to: talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, grasp, pick, lift, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions. The employee must frequently lift and /or move 50 pounds. The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operate production machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach
This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices
Able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

PAYROLL RESPONSIBILITIES

Validate daily time collection data in SAP; coordinate with managers and supervisors to resolve discrepancies
Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees accurately and on time
Create and post payroll-related journal entries to the general ledger
Onboard and offboard employees in payroll and benefit platforms
Validate employee deductions and ensure benefit invoices are coded to the correct cost centers
Respond to inquiries from outside agencies related to unemployment claims, garnishments, and other payroll matters

ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the preparation and posting of multi-entity journal entries
Support the accounts payable function in solving complex aged items
Monitor and reconcile bank activities to the general ledger
Assist in the preparation and filing of TTB and sales/use tax returns in compliance with state and federal regulations
Assist in filing annual license renewals and preparing U.S. Census data reports
Support month-end and year-end closings, including reconciliations and adjustments
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions comply with organizational policies and regulations
Support internal and external audits, including documentation gathering and process reviews
Identify and recommend improvements to accounting and administrative controls for efficiency
General Responsibilities
Uphold company safety and compliance standards by identifying risks and promoting a secure work environment
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, payroll, and employee data
Perform other duties as assigned by management
