Description The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with daily accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable support, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and integrity. Role and Responsibilities Generate and issue invoices to customers based on contract terms. Verify billing data for accuracy, including product, quantity and pricing. Respond to billing inquiries from customers and internal departments. Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Assist with accounts payable, including AP invoice filing and vendor inquiries. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards. Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Experience: 1–2 years of experience in billing, accounting, or finance roles. Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume billing environment preferred. Skills & Competencies: Advanced computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with accounting software (Syspro experience is a plus). Familiarity with electronic billing systems and portals. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly. Work Environment and Physical Requirements The work environment alternates between a cold production setting with concrete floors and an office. This position requires the team member to: Sit for an extended period at a computer. Stand and walk through the production floor and endure cold temperatures (38 degrees) Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs.
