Description
SAIC has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant that is graduating in the Spring of 2025 or 2026. This position supports high visibility customer activities that are critical to national security. Our team promotes a culture of collaboration, creativity, and work-life balance. In this role you will be responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas. This position is located in Sterling, VA and requires background screening and successful processing for a Top Secret security clearance.

In this role responsibilities include:

  • Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries
  • Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts
  • Provide analysis and support to external auditors
  • Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings

Qualifications

  • Must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution prior to starting this position
  • 3 years of related experience, which can be professional or academic
  • Previous Internship with one of the Big 4 public accounting firms is strongly desired
  • Experience with tax accounting or auditing/assurance accounting
  • Must be able to complete and obtain a TS/SCI and Poly security clearance processing prior to starting
  • A strong interest in performing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics
  • Ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to conduct domestic travelDesired Experience:
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience in forensic accounting to include anti-money laundering activities
