Description Scope: This full-time position is responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and to assist in financial period closings. This positions reports directly to the Controller and takes direction from the Senior Accountant. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Accounts Payable: Verify, process and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system to ensure that they match purchase orders and receipts in order to prevent duplicate or unauthorized payments Schedule and execute payments per Purchase Order terms Reconcile vendor accounts and manage inquiries and resolve disputes on a timely basis Reconcile the AP detail and General Ledger balances Work closely with Purchasing to ensure accurate vendor and financial information Maintains the accuracy of the Accounts Payable subsidiary ledger in order to accurately reflect the organization’s AP debt Accounts Receivable: Record and reconcile customer payments on a timely basis Assist in collection strategies in order to minimize past due balances and improve cash flow Foster strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and timely payments Reconcile AR detail and General Ledger balances General Accounting: Assist in monthly and yearly closings Act as backup for Senior Accountant Perform other accounting assignments as required Basic Skills: Understanding of GAAP Good communication skills A team player Positive approach to IT systems Ability to analyze data and resolve problems Detail and results oriented Works well with others both inside and outside of the organization Requirements: Associate’s Degree in Accounting (Minimum) Minimum of 1 Years’ experience in accounting Proficient using a recognized ERP and accounting system Requirements 2 years minimum accounts payable Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Attentive to detail Able to Organize large volumes of work Communicate well both internally and externally Able to solve problems
