JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking a Junior AI/ML Engineer to join our team at Merck Research Laboratories IT division. In this role, you will contribute to the end-to-end delivery of AI solutions and applications focused on clinical trials. You will collaborate with diverse business stakeholders to transform their hypotheses and questions into effective machine learning models and develop applications that integrate these models into daily operations.
This position involves a blend of data engineering, data science, and AI, with a strong emphasis on following software development best practices. Your work will span various dimensions of machine learning, technology, and business, offering a dynamic and enriching experience.

How the job will look like:

• You will join one or two ongoing projects together with a senior data scientist(s) from the team.
• You will take responsibility of some small part of the project (data wrangling and exploration, preparation, app development, …) and will code in Python with the help of team.
• You will start building your business, data science and technical expertise and establish your position in the team.
• Beside project work, you can either work on improving team’s ecosystem or join the global data science community in the company and contribute to strategic initiatives.
• Though most of the learning will happen on the job, there are also opportunities, e.g. AWS trainings

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM THE CANDIDATES?

• In your last year of university, which equipped you with appropriate skills for the above.
• Strong programming skills (Python or R)
• Knowledge of elementary statistics and machine learning
• Solving things and making them work should be natural for you
• Enjoys variety of work
