NSF has launched a Retail Food Safety Junior Auditor development program, and we are looking for motivated applicants who want to move their career forward. We will provide you with an intensive 6-week training course that will give you the skills necessary to evaluate food service establishments of all types. This course will be conducted through both virtual classroom training and immersive in-person training. At the conclusion of this course, you will have a solid foundation in food safety and auditing knowledge.

Responsibilities: During the program, you will receive first-hand knowledge and training that will equip you to be successful in your role. To include the following:

  • Learn to perform 2nd party audits for retail food clients
  • Understand how to summarize and evaluate audit findings
  • Communicate effectively with clients and account manager
  • Inform and educate restaurant, bar, and grocery store owners about specific standards
  • Qualifications: Current college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a food science related degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analysis and problem-solving
  • Willingness to travel as this position is an on-the-road role traveling to various client locations to complete food retail audits; once you complete the program, your travel will increase and can be expected to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Must be comfortable with overnight stay as required to complete some audits (Fulltime positions)
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends to complete audits
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
