Description

The Nevada Supreme Court, Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC), is seeking a Junior Auditor to support the Audit Unit in ensuring accountability and compliance across Nevada’s judiciary.
The Junior Auditor provides essential support to the Audit Unit by assisting with audit preparation, documentation management, quality assurance, and administrative coordination. This position plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and accountability of audit activities across the department. Working under general supervision, the Junior Auditor supports senior auditors, communicates with court staff, and may travel on short notice to rural Nevada courts to facilitate on-site audit work.
This position is located in Las Vegas. After an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in an administrative, clerical, or entry-level accounting/auditing role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Proficiency in data entry, Microsoft Office Suite, and database management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with court staff, auditors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice to rural Nevada courts to support audit fieldwork.
  • Familiarity with audit processes, internal controls, and financial compliance principles preferred.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Prior experience coordinating meetings, scheduling, or managing logistics is desirable.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning auditing standards.
    Effectively works remotely and collaborates with employees from a remote location, as needed. Must have expertise in virtual meeting platforms, such as Teams. Must have the ability to work remotely via an internet network connection provided by the employee. This connection speed must be sufficient to perform all duties. A minimum of 50-100 mb download speeds are required. Higher connection speed may be required if sharing this connection with other members in an employee’s household.

Responsibilities
  • Audit Preparation & Documentation: Gather, review, and organize materials needed for audits; prepare clear and accurate audit workpapers to document procedures performed and conclusions reached.
  • Data Management: Enter and maintain accurate data in relevant systems; keep records and databases organized and up to date for efficient retrieval.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform math checks, proofreading, and report formatting to ensure accuracy and professionalism in audit reports.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Arrange audit schedules, meetings, conference calls, and video conferences; handle logistics such as equipment setup, participant coordination, and follow-up.
  • Software & Access Control: Manage court access to audit software, maintain access controls, and ensure secure, authorized use of audit systems.
  • On-Site Support: Travel, sometimes on short notice, to rural Nevada courts to obtain and scan documents and assist with audit fieldwork.
  • Administrative & Facility Support: Perform general administrative tasks such as file maintenance, mailings, and record keeping; coordinate building maintenance and ensure a functional work environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with court staff, support senior auditors during walkthroughs and observations, and contribute to team discussions by raising questions and clarifications based on findings.
  • Other Duties: Provide office-wide support and assist with special projects as assigned to meet the dynamic needs of the Audit Unit.
