JUNIOR BUYER

Newmarket, Ontario

This is a manufacturing environment with purchasing office located in warehouse area. This role will work closely with Shipping/Receiving and will require a candidate that can assist with some physical labour as well, such as helping to unpack and place stock on shelves. This role is intended to progress into a more senior level role, working alongside a senior level associate that will train, mentor and prep you for advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Post secondary education in Supply Chain, Business or Finance
· 0-2 years working experience in Purchasing role (new grads and entry level candidates welcome)
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Effective and engaging communication skills, with good ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
· Ability to learn and be mentored into more senior level role and responsibilities
· Computer proficiency in MS Office and experience on Business Vision is an asset
· Flexibility to assist with some physical work such as unpacking orders and placing stock on shelves

Responsibilities

· Provide information on available materials
· Calculate costs of orders
· Change or forward invoices to appropriate accounts
· Complete and process international purchase orders
· Obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers
· Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and records
· Prepare PO’s and process purchases
· Resolve delivery issues and supply chain concerns
· Verify stock availability from current inventories
· Maintain stock rotation, assist with unpacking and placing stock on shelves and keeping stock area organized
· Prepare inventory costs, retail pricing and profit reports
· Reconcile physical inventory with computer counts
· Verify receipts and packing slips
