Hours : 8:30am-6pm, Monday-Friday
This is an exciting opportunity for a high-profile Junior Buying role within the Consumer Electronics category, focussing on video and photography. You will be responsible for planning and selecting the range in line with seasonality and promotions. Liaising with suppliers and brands across the business to build relationships and understanding. You will also work closely with merchandising counterparts to ensure that the department strategy is achieved.

YOUR EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE

  • Proven track record and recent comparable experience in a junior or assistant buying role, in an omnichannel environment.
  • Strong business acumen and self-drive.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving dynamic retail environment
  • Confidence to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Product and market knowledge within a retail environment, with a customer focus.
  • Strong commercial, analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excel proficient, with the ability to build their own reports.
  • While not essential, an interest or background in photography will help in their initial understanding of the product areas.

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the head of department to develop and implement joint business plans in line with department strategy.
  • Work with the key brands to ensure accurate selection for promotional periods and new launches throughout the year.
  • Work with the team to review weekly trading performance on KPIs and to identify any issues and opportunities to respond to weekly trading conditions.
  • Managing an assortment of high strategic importance and / or complexity within your category that achieves strong customer satisfaction.
  • Establishing effective relationships with key brands and stakeholders, to encourage growth and the delivery of the category plans.
  • Ensure agreed levels of good, better and best products are planned and bought in line with the department strategy.
  • Actively seek out new product opportunities.
  • Run sales and profit reports, providing evidence-based analysis to back up key strategies.
  • Liaise with stores, customer services and marketing, to provide an overview of key promotions and new products.
  • Work alongside stores and our academy and brands to plan and drive sales during our events.
