W.F. Baird & Associates “Baird” is seeking a dedicated, creative, and approachable CAD Drafting Technician for civil and structural engineering. The candidate will work with engineers, project managers, and other technical staff. Work will involve preparation of civil engineering drawings, gathering data, and presenting information in graphical form. This role will require the candidate to produce quality work, while meeting the budget and schedules of multiple concurrent projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Should have working knowledge of civil site development (e.g. grading, surfaces, volume calculations, sections, profiles, corridors, pipe networks, alignments and quantity take-offs)
- Should have sound knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods
- Should have foundational working knowledge of:
- Autodesk Suite of Products (Autocad, Map, Civil 3d, Revit, Inventor, Navisworks, Recap, Bim 360)
- QGIS/ArcGIS
- Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel capabilities
- Ideal experience with/understanding of/interest in:
- 3ds Max
- Bluebeam
- Adobe Photoshop
- Microstation/OpenRoads
- Rhino
Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Transforming initial rough designs/sketches and redlines/mark-ups into finished graphics/construction documents
- Drafting detail drawings of marinas, wharfs, bulkhead walls, piers, bridges, ferry terminals, hydraulic structures, structures (steel, concrete, timber & masonry) and shoreline construction (beaches, nourishment, revetments, breakwaters)
- Reviewing engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established CAD standards
- Interacting and coordinating with all stakeholders (engineers, sampling group, construction, clients, subcontractors, government agencies, etc.)
