JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a flexible, reliable chef who is calm under pressure, to join our close nit professional kitchen situated in our well established, popular - busy gastro pub in the beautiful village of Durley, Hampshire. The successful candidate will have plenty of responsibility and room to develop and grow, they will be supporting the Head Chef and kitchen team in delivering stylish, delicious, freshly home made cuisine, we would like them to bring their own creativity and flair to the role too. The candidate must have a positive outlook and work well in a team environment, they must be available for weekend and evening work. Qualifications - Hospitality and Catering Level 1 & 2, Allergen awareness, Food Safety level 1 & 2, experience preferred but not essential.

  • Strong/good culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff during food production, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times.
  • Collaborate with senior chefs to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
  • Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Assist with serving meals during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery to guests.
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
  • Collaborate with senior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations
