The Junior Civil Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in construction support that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for a Civil Engineer that has 2+ years of experience at construction phase to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and part-time (approximately 15 hours per week) in the Laguna Beach area.

Projects may include:

  • Parking lot Improvement Project
  • Assist in the development of procedures for Construction Management and Development Services

Responsibilities
  • Support construction oversight, coordination, scheduling, and quality/safety compliance.
  • Manage documentation, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Track budgets and costs, facilitate meetings, and coordinate inspections and issue resolution.
  • Oversee punch lists, final inspections, as-built documentation, warranty/operations manuals, and cost reconciliation.
  • Review and assess construction management and development services current workflows, identify gaps, and engage stakeholders to gather input for improvements.
  • Map processes, define roles, and document requirements to support clear, efficient operations.
  • Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for construction management and development services with supporting tools such as checklists, templates, and decision-making guides.
  • Assist in the implementation of plans, including staff training and ongoing guidance during rollout of SOPs.
