Job Purpose:
- To support the local Claims Adjuster in the daily tasks ( administration, handling , processing)
- Back-up function for the claims handling, monitoring, and settling Marine, Property and Liability claims, emanating from a Japanese portfolio underwritten in the Dutch Bourse Market.
- Reporting the claims activities to the local Claims Adjuster and HO Claims, Marine, Property Liability TME.
- Collaboration with colleagues both locally and abroad.
Missions
- To support the Claims Adjuster in the daily operations: registering in the system, administration, processing in the different systems,
- To handle, monitor, and adequately reserve various claims from our Japanese clients, underwritten by the Underwriting team based in Amstelveen.
- To assess, negotiate, handle, and settle claims based on applicable internal standards and rules, as well as standards and rules of the Dutch Insurance Bourse (VNAB)
- Cooperate strategically with brokers and clients, external legal advisors, and surveyors, to ensure an optimal and premier claim process
- Collaboration with colleagues abroad on claims within the Dutch jurisdiction
- Liaise with respective underwriters on wording/policy issues, provide claims info and attend client/broker meetings as appropriate
- Report to Claims Adjuster and HO Claims, Marine, Property & Liability TME
- Work with various mainframe computer systems to register claims, record, and/or authorize claim reserves and payments, in close cooperation with the Claims Adjuster.
Skills & Experience Specification
Essentials
- HBO+ level of knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
- Will have worked in an insurance company or a broker as a claims handler and gained sufficient practical experience in the Bourse market
- A good network within the Dutch (Bourse) Insurance Market
- Expertise knowledge of at least one of the defined lines of business is required.

- WFT diploma
- Very good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage high levels of work
- Strong analytical skills, in combination with the use of MS Office systems
