Description
🚛 About Qargo Qargo is a cloud-based (SaaS) Transport Management Platform. We are a scale-up based in London (UK), Ghent (Belgium), and Chicago (US), and are rapidly expanding. The platform is an 'all-in-one system', handling everything from initial order entry to final invoicing. It optimises planning and has a built-in AI feature that automates lengthy manual tasks. Qargo is designed to help modern logistics operations run more efficiently, while increasing profitability and sustainability. We're looking for a Junior Commercial Counsel to join our Finance & Legal team in London as our second legal hire — a hands-on, high-ownership role at the heart of our commercial and legal operations. 💼 About the Role You will be our second ever legal hire, reporting to the Legal & Compliance Lead You'll be the go-to person for day-to-day commercial contracting across Qargo's group entities (UK, Belgium, US). You'll own and operate our CLM system (Juro), driving adoption and self-serve maturity across the business. You'll work closely with Sales, Finance, HR, Customer Success and the Security team — helping Qargo scale its legal function as we grow into new markets. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, tight-knit legal team and make a real, visible impact from day one. 🔑 Key Responsibilities Own day-to-day customer contracting (MSAs, Order Forms, NDAs, DPAs, amendments, renewals, SOWs), with scope to grow into handling strategic, high-value, and enterprise deals alongside the Legal Lead. Manage and evolve Qargo's CLM (Juro) with the Sales-enablement Lead: manage templates, workflows, playbooks, reporting, and user enablement across the business. Co-own Qargo's data protection and privacy operations: negotiate customer and vendor DPAs, maintain the intra-group data sharing framework and privacy/cookie policies, and partner with Security on NIS2 and incident response readiness. Own end-to-end supplier and procurement contracting: SaaS vendors, IT, marketing, and professional services. Support US expansion: help stand up customer contracting workflows for Qargo Tech Inc. Provide support on corporate compliance and other ad hoc legal tasks as needed. ✅ Skills & Experience Either a qualified solicitor or CILEX lawyer in England & Wales (NQ–3 PQE), with in-house experience or 3–5 years of in-house legal experience at a technology or SaaS business. Solid grounding in SaaS commercial contracting: MSAs, Order Forms, DPAs, NDAs. Familiarity with UK & EU GDPR and data protection fundamentals. Experience with a CLM tool (Juro experience is a real bonus!). Tech-native and AI-curious: comfortable with tools like Slack, Notion, Google Workspace and GenAI tooling. Pragmatic, business-first mindset - you translate legal risk into clear, actionable commercial advice. Confident operating autonomously in a small team, with high ownership and a bias to action. Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable with senior stakeholders and external advisers. Collaborative and curious — you genuinely want to grow a function, not just maintain it. Fluent in English. French or Dutch is a big plus! 🤝 What We Offer A competitive package Flexible hybrid working from our London office Private healthcare with Vitality Growth opportunities in a fast-scaling tech company expanding into the US and beyond. Meaningful ownership from day one — this isn't a support role, it's a building role. Being part of a driven and inclusive team that is transforming the logistics industry.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day commercial contracting, including MSAs and DPAs, across UK, Belgium, and US entities. Oversee the CLM system (Juro) and support data protection operations and US market expansion.
