Title: Junior Communications Analyst
Reports to: Senior Advisor, Defense and Diplomacy
Location: Remote with the option to work in person in Arlington, VA
FTE/Status: Part or Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Junior Communications Analyst provides support in developing, implementing, and evaluating internal and external communication strategies for Q2IMPACT and clients. This role is responsible for assisting with content creation, research and data analysis, media monitoring, social media management, and reporting to ensure consistent and effective messaging that aligns with organizational objectives. Must be eligible to receive a US Security Clearance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Political Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 0–2 years of experience in a communications, public affairs, or digital marketing role (internship or co-op experience acceptable
  • Analytical abilities for monitoring and evaluating communications and social media performance.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO, content strategy, and audience targeting an asset.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Practical experience with social media platforms and content scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, or native tools).
  • Previous experience working the Department of State or Defense Clients
  • Familiarity with CMS or design tools (e.g., Canva, WordPress, Adobe Suite)
  • Active SECRET security clearance
