The role encompasses content creation, media relations, event support, research tasks, the development of distribution lists and institutional communication within a dynamic environment at the intersection of technology and security. Creating and editing content for various channels (press releases, social media, presentation materials, website copy in German and English, etc.) Supporting internal communications (preparing updates, coordinating cross-team messaging, and maintaining internal communication formats) Assisting with institutional communication and stakeholder outreach toward government agencies, defense ministries, NATO, and EU institutions Contributing to the preparation and execution of trade fairs, conferences, and industry events Managing and developing our social media presence, particularly on LinkedIn and in relevant defense and tech communities Researching, monitoring, and analyzing relevant developments in politics, funding and media within the defense and security environment Your profile Completed degree in communications, political science, international relations, journalism, or a related field Initial experience in media or press work; such as building or maintaining media contacts, preparing interviews or briefings, drafting press releases, or supporting communications campaign Strong written communication skills and the ability to convey complex topics clearly and in a target-audience-appropriate manner Structured, independent working style with the ability to manage multiple parallel tasks and deadlines Genuine interest in defence, technology, and security policy Discretion and sensitivity when handling confidential or strategically sensitive information Fluent in German and English, written and spoken, at a professional level Nice to have Experience in videography or photography (creatinf and editing visual content for events, social media or internal purposes) Graphic design skills (confident use of tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite or comparable programs) Familiarity with funding, grant and procurement processes at NATO, EU institutions or the Bundeswehr Proficiency in additional languages Experience with communications or analytics tools Experience in a startup, public affairs agency, think tank or government-adjacent environment.
