Description

We are looking for an in-house Copywriter within our dedicated photography studio in Lymedale, Stoke-on-Trent.
You will already have some commercial copywriting experience and will be keen to become a competent and valuable member of the team, with demonstrable contributions to client projects.
You will have solid and dependable writing skills, which can be relied on for emails, banners and product descriptions with minimal supervision from your line manager.
This role is an integral part of our fantastic studio content team, and is responsible for creating great content that people will want to read, share and use to inform their online shopping experience.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Educated to degree level in English, Marketing or other relevant subject
  • Previous in-house, agency or on a freelance copywriting experience
  • Excellent attention to detail alongside the ability to work at speed
  • Excellent organizational skills including organizing own work and supporting more junior team members and freelancers as well as enabling team members to access shared files
  • Experience in writing for SEO
  • Familiarity with G Suite including Google Docs, Google Sheets and Gmail
  • Eager to learn and able to take constructive criticism onboard
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Willing to ask questions and input solutions focused ideas
  • Present a can-do, enthusiastic attitude
  • Excellent team player who is integrated within the studio team and the wider business
  • Keen to assist in related areas outside of the immediate job description whenever possible
Responsibilities
  • Producing engaging product descriptions and other copy based on agreed concepts and themes
  • Writing product descriptions, taking legal requirements and the client brief into account
  • Continually improve ways of working in order to manage increased volumes without compromising on quality
  • Liaising with the client and contributing to client meetings, offering ideas for new and improved content
  • Manage competing deadlines, keeping stakeholders updated in a timely manner
  • Seek to develop a strong understanding of our clients’ brands, their brand strategy and their needs as a Biglight client
  • Support in organizing and training freelancers, junior colleagues and peers as and when needed
  • Where relevant, update client copy guides and ensure that new team members including freelancers are aware and familiar with it
  • Ensure you understand the sign off process and have appropriate sign off on all your work
  • Complete online competitor research to help improve quality and efficiencies
  • Perform any reasonable task that is asked of you by your line manager or member of the senior team
