ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cost Engineer to support our estimating and production planning functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on engineering experience or a technical support background to move into a commercial and planning-focused role within a growing business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret technical engineering drawings to support accurate cost estimations.
• Collaborate with department supervisors (Turning, Milling, Sheet Metal) and the Production Manager to generate quotes for new and repeat business.
• Assist in cost analysis and pricing strategies for components and assemblies.
• Source and obtain material costs from stockists and suppliers.
• Input and manage data in Excel and internal ERP/MRP systems.
• Help maintain up-to-date costing records and quote history.
• Liaise with customers and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely quotations.
