We are a co-educational, non-selective state boarding school, for boys and girls aged 7 - 18. We are looking for a junior credit controller, on temporary basis. The successful candidate will assist the senior credit controller, in a busy accounts department, with basic credit control procedures, debt collection and have the following technical and professional know-how:

  • Basic Financial Knowledge: Understanding invoices, payment terms, and credit policies is a must.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting systems and spreadsheets helps streamline your workflow.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Awareness of debt collection laws and ethical practices ensures compliance.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING CORE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Effective Communication: Clear, confident interaction with clients and internal teams is essential for resolving payment issues and maintaining relationships.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in record-keeping and spotting discrepancies helps prevent costly errors.
  • Negotiation & Persuasion: You’ll often need to encourage timely payments without damaging client rapport.
  • Problem-Solving: Tackling disputes or identifying reasons behind delayed payments requires a cool head and creative thinking.
  • Time Management: Prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines keeps cash flow steady and operations smooth.
  • Customer Service Skills: Handling difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism is key.
  • Teamwork & Independence: You’ll collaborate with finance teams but also need to manage your own workload effectively.
