Scurri optimises the ordering, shipping and delivery processes for a growing list of online retailers and distribution companies. We make it easier for well known brands to ship goods to their customers around the world.
A growing demand for online shopping means that we have an exceptional opportunity for a Junior Cyber Security Engineer to join our expanding team and further propel our growth.
This is a full time / permanent / hybrid role (3 days office ) based out of our stunning new Wexford Town HQ.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for deploying a range of exciting and varied security technologies to our IT infrastructure and lead all hardware security and data protection activities within the business.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure, technology platforms, network design, and application development.
  • Strong understanding of security engineering practice and craft.
  • Proficient in Python; experience with Django is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in front-end technologies, including Javascript, React JS, and VueJS.
  • Hands-on experience with Penetration Testing; (Certs, e.g. Pentest+ is a bonus, as is TryHackMe, HackTheBox, CTFs)Experience in cybersecurity roles.
  • Security certifications CompTIA Security+, Pentest+, SSCP.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
  • Familiarity with MDM solutions
  • Familiarity with SIEM solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate risks, priorities, and the reasoning behind those decisions to partners, peers, and customers. Effectively sharing knowledge and expertise with others in the course of doing security work, contributing to the growth of security in the organization
  • Understanding and experience with relevant threats and the corresponding attack patterns, techniques, mindset, and types of vulnerabilities that an attacker may exploit and how we introduce them, and defense techniques to mitigate them.
  • The ability to understand and effectively implement, test, and operate security controls across multiple aspects of information security principles, tools, and methods.
  • Knowledge of implementing data protection regulations across the business.
  • Experience developing and delivering security training materials and performing general security awareness and specific security technology training.
  • Capability to keep up to date on global technology-related regulations, industry standards, and other best practice guidance.
  • Experience in networking and contributing to events and conferences within the cybersecurity industry.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with DevOps, Software Development, and Product teams.
  • Awareness of laws and regulations and provide business recommendations regarding security legal requirements.
  • Willingness to travel for work when required.
