Heresafe is a growing SaaS company delivering innovative health and safety software to the public and private sectors. For us, security isn’t just a box to tick - it’s the foundation of everything we do, from protecting customer data to ensuring platform resilience. As we scale, we’re looking for a Junior Cybersecurity Specialist to help strengthen our defences and build a robust information security program.
If you’re early in your cybersecurity career, passionate about real-world hands-on experience, and eager to work with modern cloud systems and frameworks like ISO 27001, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Configure and harden Linux-based systems across cloud environments
- Assist with firewall, network security, and endpoint protection management
- Monitor security alerts and logs to identify critical threats
- Configure and run vulnerability scans and track remediation efforts
- Coordinate third-party penetration testing and follow-ups
- Help maintain ISO 27001 certification through documentation and audit support
- Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices
- Drive improvements in security processes and infrastructure
- Provide evidence of our security posture to clients via White-papers and completing security questionnaires and audits.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years’ experience in IT, system admin, or junior cybersecurity (or equivalent via education, self-study, projects, bootcamps - we value skills over credentials)
- Basic Linux knowledge and core security concepts
- Familiarity with networking, firewalls, or cloud security
- Experience with security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, or vulnerability scanners
- Strong interest in cloud security and SaaS environments
- Ownership mindset with eagerness to learn and improve continuously
- Curiosity, initiative, and a healthy dose of security paranoia
Bonus Points For
- Exposure to ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, or other compliance frameworks
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for task automation
- Certifications like CompTIA Security+, Linux+, or ISO 27001 Foundations
