The OpportunityI'm currently working with a well-established Financial Services organisation based in Birmingham that is looking to hire a Data Analyst to join its growing data and analytics function.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in turning data into meaningful insights that support decision-making across the business. You'll work closely with stakeholders across commercial, finance, operations and wider business functions to understand requirements, analyse data and deliver reporting that helps drive performance.

- Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyse business and customer data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Design, develop and maintain dashboards and reports for stakeholders across the organisation.
- Gather reporting requirements from business users and translate them into effective analytical solutions.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate and analyse data.
- Produce regular KPI, performance and management reporting.
- Work closely with finance, commercial, operational and wider business teams to understand challenges and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Support ad-hoc analysis to answer key business questions and inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency and quality of reporting across multiple data sources.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data visibility across the business.
- Communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Document reporting processes and maintain high standards across the data and analytics function.
- Essential Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or similar analytical role.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying and analysing relational databases.
- Experience developing dashboards using Power BI, Tableau or a similar BI platform.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced Financial Services environment.
- Desirable SkillsPrevious experience within Financial Services, banking, insurance, lending or a related financial organisation.
- Experience working with financial, customer, risk or regulatory data.
- Exposure to Python or R for data analysis.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Azure.
- Knowledge of data quality and governance best practices.
- Experience working within Agile environments.
- Exposure to tools such as dbt, Looker or Microsoft Fabric.
