AMSG is seeking a full time Junior Data Engineer with U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) or other related U.S. Army experience in data analytics.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, performs tasks which apply knowledge and skill to gather the appropriate data that will be used to plan, analyze, and provide expertise in Data Engineering in support of the U.S. Army TRADOC C2DAO office. The candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining performance management systems. The position requires the candidate to have Microsoft Office Suite of products skills, in addition to expertise in Python programming.

Specific Duties:

• Assist data engineering team in the design and scope of data engineering pipelines.
• Aid the engineering/pipelining of data to support analytics, modeling, and visualizations.
• Provide experience in data modeling and design (defining tables, configuring table and column properties, defining relationships, resolving many-to-many relationships, defining appropriate levels of granularity) for both operational data and analytical data.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, integrating data, ensuring data interoperability, implementing data structures, and design and maintain data storage.
• Design and build database architectures consisting of models and developing standards and rules for how data is collected, stored, arranged, integrated, and used in data systems.
• Access and leverage structured relational as well as semi-structured data.
• Experience in object development and design.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of or an ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering solutions
• Experience with Apache Spark or other distributed computing libraries
• Data modeling and database design
• Experience in data engineering/architecture
