What you do

  • You will support the setup and operation of data pipelines and platforms, as well as ETL and ELT processes.
  • You will work with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks) and learn to design data infrastructures that are efficient, secure, and scalable.
  • You will assist with data integration from various sources, data cleansing, quality assurance, and monitoring.
  • You work closely with data scientists to implement their requirements technically.
  • You will participate in the development of APIs and learn how to handle modern data workflows.
  • You will gain initial experience with containerization (Docker) and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • You document your work and contribute to reusable best practices.
  • You continuously acquire new technologies in the areas of data engineering, cloud computing, and big data.

What you bring

  • A completed degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • Initial practical experience in data processing, SQL and at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java or Scala).
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms or the motivation to quickly familiarize yourself with them.
  • Basic knowledge of different types of databases (relational, key-value, graph, vector databases, object stores) and their areas of application.
  • Passion for data architectures, ETL/ELT processes, event streaming and big data technologies.
  • Interest in containerization (Docker) and basic DevOps/MLOps concepts.
  • Fluent German skills (at least C1 level) and good English skills.
  • Analytical, pragmatic thinking skills and a passion for solving complex problems in a structured way.
