Your role in the team:
We're building data governance at ENGEL from the ground up – and as a student employee, you'll be involved from the very beginning. No taking over an existing system, no managing pre-existing structures. You'll help us find the right tools, model data structures, and technically implement rules that make our data usable in the long term – as a foundation for data analytics and AI. Specifically, you'll be responsible for the following tasks:
- You evaluate and test data governance tools and recommend what fits into our IT architecture.
- You model data structures, metadata, and data lineage, and implement them technically.
- You implement and automate data quality rules and verify their compliance.
- You will work closely with data engineers and data architects to integrate data governance requirements into existing data pipelines.
You bring the following:
First things first: a passion for data and a genuine interest in data governance.
- Completed or advanced studies (university of applied sciences/university) in computer science, business informatics, data science or similar.
- Solid knowledge of data modeling (conceptual, logical and physical) and database structures
- Experience with SQL; ideally also Python or similar languages.
- Basic understanding of data pipelines and data architecture
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented work style to advance the topic independently.
- Prior experience with agile methods is an advantage.
Here's what you can look forward to:
- At ENGEL, you'll be involved in shaping data governance from the very beginning – not taking over an existing system, but truly building one from the ground up.
- You help choose which tools we use – your technical assessment counts.
- You will join a small, motivated team with direct influence on a strategically central issue.
- You will take on an active role in an ongoing corporate transformation.
- You benefit from flexible working hours, days off, and home office options.
- A gross monthly salary starting from €3,396.21 or €3,885.00 (BSc graduate), which we will determine together according to your profile (based on full-time employment, collective agreement for the metalworking industry)
