This role provides an exciting opportunity to work on a modern, cloud-based data platform, helping to move, transform, and optimize large-scale datasets. As a Junior Data Engineer, you will develop and maintain data pipelines, optimize SQL queries and cluster performance, and ensure the efficient operation of Azure-based infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions, contribute to process documentation, and participate in code reviews. This position offers hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Azure tools, in a fully remote environment that supports professional growth and skill development. You will be part of a dynamic team that values problem-solving, attention to detail, and continuous improvement in data operations. Accountabilities Develop and maintain Python scripts for data movement and transformation across Azure storage and compute environments. Configure and optimize clusters to improve performance and resource utilization. Analyze and optimize SQL queries, including INNER JOIN and OUTER JOIN operations, using EXPLAIN plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Jira or Azure DevOps to track tasks and progress. Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation of data engineering processes. Support the implementation of data modeling and ETL best practices. 1–3 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role. Proficiency in Python for data movement and transformation tasks. Strong SQL skills with experience in query optimization and performance tuning. Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse Analytics. Understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and Agile development methodologies. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
