POSITION OVERVIEW

Based in Owen Sound, The Estimator / Junior Cabinet Designer is a office based position and will support the sales and production teams by preparing accurate estimates and assisting with cabinet design layouts and CNC engineering. This role is ideal for someone who has a blend of technical and creative skills and is looking to grow within the cabinet-making and design industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience or education in cabinet design, drafting, or estimating (woodworking industry preferred)
• Proficiency in cabinet design software (Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, or similar) a plus
• CNC engineering proficiency
• Strong math skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow

• Review architectural drawings and customer plans to prepare accurate material and labor cost estimates
• Assist in creating cabinet designs using design software (Cabinet Vision)
• Collaborate with sales and project managers to develop solutions that meet client needs and budget
• Help maintain and update pricing databases and supplier information
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and availability of materials
• Assist in preparing presentation drawings and documentation for client approval
• Take design concept drawings and engineer for CNC production
• Support production with detailed cut lists and part breakdowns when needed
• Perform site visits to take field measurements (as needed)
• maintaining showroom samples and administrative duties as needed
