JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a creative, motivated and detail-oriented Junior Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the design process for residential and commercial projects, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth execution of design and project management tasks. Your responsibilities will include working closely with clients, suppliers and project teams to create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients and suppliers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of design principles, particularly in relation to kitchens and home interiors.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements and assist with layout design.
  • Knowledge of material finishes, including flooring and paint is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills within the design and project management field.
  • Prior experience in design or customer service role is advantageous.
    Salary based on experience.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $17.20-$35.63 per hour
    Expected hours: 35 per week

Responsibilities
  • Material Calculation and Pricing
  • Calculate material quantities and ensure accurate pricing for each project.

  • Utilize Excel for pricing jobs and preparing cost estimates for clients.

  • Client Interaction and Support

  • Greet and assist clients in person, providing a welcoming and helpful environment.

  • Answer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner, addressing client inquiries.

  • Guide clients in selecting finishes, including flooring, paint, tiles and other design elements.

  • Project Documentation and Coordination

  • Draft and type clear, detailed quotes and project paperwork for client approval.

  • Maintain organized records of all project-related documents.

  • Organize and manage incoming materials and deliveries, ensuring all items are received and stored properly.

  • Design and Client Communication

  • Create visual material boards for client approval, helping clients visualize their design choices.

  • Communicate with clients and partner businesses through email and other platforms to ensure a seamless project workflow.

  • Site Visits and Measurements

  • Conduct site visits to take measurements, assess the space and ensure the design layout meets client expectations.

  • Assist in laying out design elements and ensuring the project is on track.

  • Team Collaboration

  • Work alongside senior designers and project managers to ensure the successful completion of kitchen designs.

  • Assist in the execution of design plans, ensuring quality control and accuracy.
