JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Junior eCommerce & Marketplace Data Analyst to help us turn raw marketplace data into clear, actionable insight. Working closely with the Lead Data Analyst, you will be responsible for pulling data from multiple sources (including Amazon Vendor), cleaning and transforming datasets, and supporting the delivery of dashboards and reports in Power BI. This is a hands-on technical role where attention to detail and curiosity with data are key. We are at the beginning of our data journey, and the business recognises that stronger data analytics can unlock significant growth across our Amazon Vendor channel and other eCommerce marketplaces. This role is a key step in building that capability.
This is a hybrid role, one day a week the successful candidate will be required to work from Portwest’s Manchester office, located at Salford Quays. The remaining 4 days of the week, the successful candidate will work from home. Travel to our warehouse in Thurnscoe will also be required 1-2 times per month. Access to a car is essential for this role for inter-office travel.

Responsibilities
  • Pull, prepare, and validate data from Amazon Vendor / Seller and other marketplace sources.
  • Clean, transform, and structure datasets using Excel and Power Query.
  • Maintain and update Power BI dashboards for timely, accurate insight.
  • Produce recurring reports (e.g., weekly/monthly sales, Buy Box visibility, COGS, product performance and more).
  • Automate recurring reports and data refreshes using tools such as Power Automate and Power BI Service (scheduled refresh, dataflows, email subscriptions).
  • Build reliable, repeatable workflows for data ingestion and distribution, with basic error handling, logging, and alerting.
  • Monitor data quality, troubleshoot errors, and flag inconsistencies.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions and spot opportunities.
  • Document processes and data flows to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
