Medatech (Mobile Equipment Design & Automation Technology) designs and builds custom mobile heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for:
  • Prepare layouts, Drawings and bills of material
  • Utilize Solidworks design suite to manage or develop wiring schematics, wiring harness drawings and panel assemblies
  • Ensure compliance to various regulations and standards across multiple regions and markets
  • Select and/or design components for function, cost, reliability, ad manufacturability
  • Interact with suppliers and support purchasing process
  • Interact with various other engineering groups and disciplines within the organization
  • Work closely with the shop during building of equipment
  • Perform test procedures on various machinery including AC motor control and HVDC systems
  • Work closely with controls/software engineers and communicate associated design implications and requirements involving electrical/electronic system design
  • Utilize multimeters/ oscilloscopes, Controller Area Network (CAN) tools for design, assembly, and validation

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field such as electrical engineering, or similar program
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for occasional client site visits
  • Be knowledgeable of Ontario Electrical Safety Code and the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Understand basic wiring, motor control, PLC programming and how they communicate across machinery and link together
  • Possess a high proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
  • Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative to complete tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
