Our Resources subsector, a key component of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. Over the decades, we have developed a wide range of services, including economic studies, project management, detailed design, procurement, site management, commissioning and industrial programming. This division provides a full range of services to industrial and mining projects, including all services offered in the field of engineering from conceptual and feasibility studies to complete detailed engineering in EPCM, to the closure and dismantling of mine sites. To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer in Training or Designer to join our team located in Sudbury Ontario.
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager this position will be responsible for to provide design, drafting and modelling capabilities to the Resources team. You will apply your electrical design knowledge on project work from conceptual design through completion. Technical quality, cost effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing guidance to a team of designers are integral parts of this role. Require experienced person to work with minor supervision, from conceptual studies to final designs certified for construction. Must be able to organize workload and meet agreed schedules.

• Draft and design electrical power distribution systems, fire-detection/alarm systems, industrial control systems, building lighting and associated control systems;
• Produce detailed drawing and specifications (AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3d, Revit);
• Perform engineering calculations;
• Coordinate with various departments and disciplines required for project implementation;
• Conduct Industrial and Commercial site reviews;
• Prepare engineering reports;
• Attend industrial sites and observe all applicable safety regulations;
