AS THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE, YOU WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN A VARIETY OF BUILDING-RELATED PROJECTS. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Passion about wanting to excel as a Consulting Engineer.
  • Graduate of Electrical Engineering program in Canada.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal; verbal and written) and proven ability to prepare cohesive reports and collaborate with team.
  • Have a good basic knowledge of electrical system and electrical design concepts.
  • Familiar with building construction process, governing codes and standards.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Proficient in use of AutoCAD and or Revit.
  • Understand the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Understand the Alberta Building Codes.
  • Technical competence and strong attention to detail.
  • You are a driven individual; a self-starter; passionate about your work, enjoy being challenged.
  • Work well independently or in a team environment.
Responsibilities

AS THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE A WIDE VARIETY OF BUILDING RELATED PROJECTS FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION. DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Produce electrical AutoCAD drawings.
  • Perform electrical system designing.
  • Perform design calculations for building electrical systems.
  • Learn the TWS document production standards.
  • Ensure design complies with codes and regulations.
  • Sizing of distribution equipment.
  • Design of Life safety system (fire alarm system, emergency lighting layout, exit signs).
  • Sizing breakers, cables.
  • Review shop drawings.
  • Ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and to high quality standards.
  • Construction admin such as:


    • Attend meetings with clients, Architects, trades

    • Write site instructions, Proposed Change Orders and other documents
    • Review shop drawings
    • Perform site reviews as required
    • Assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisor
    • Work well independently or in a team environment
